Now I’m sure all of you carnies have been waiting with baited breath for the next Carnival of The Mundane to show up at my humble blog.
Some of you submitted more than one post, in which case, I could not discern whether it meant you suffered from plain old fashioned pigheadedness or if perhaps you were giving me the option of choosing the one submission to be the most mundane of them all. Well, to be quite honest I went with your first pick, so if the others were meant to replace your original submissions, TOO BAD FOR YOU! Muwahahahaha.
Okay, without further haste, I present to you, the most MUNDANE blogs all wrapped up neatly in this Twelfth Edition of Carnival of The Mundane… Enjoy!

Yesterday, a recent bill became a law in the state of Minnesota in which handguns legally concealed and carried, provided the carrier is a registered owner, meaning you have a permit to use it.
Here’s a full story from a local news site.
All I can say is good for Minnesota! People all over this state are horrified. They think that allowing such a bill to be passed will now increase crime, that it will mean thugs are going to walk all over the place waving pistols like madmen. One of my co-workers says to me the other day, “If I saw a person wearing a holster and revealing it by doing this (as she moves her hand across her body and places her hand on her hip while moving her camp shirt aside to reveal an imaginary gun), that would scare the hell out of me! I think this new law is going to just increase homicide, increase the rate of fatalities from guns, yada yada”.
I don’t know about you, but I think if I saw the same thing in a crowd or public place, I’d say to myself “…if anything weird goes down, I’m sticking with that guy over there, he’s armed and protected!” I really do think that way. I’ve read for years about gun control, safety, our rights, etc. and found that in fact, quite the opposite is true. if you look at other states and other countries, you’ll see that crime rates and such actually decrease, because people are taking things into their own hands…not to say that people who are registered, smart, responsible gun owners are above the law, I mean that each and every American has the right to be reckoned with, on a personal basis. If someone invades my home or tries to attack me, my family or my personal property and even if my life is not at risk, I have every right to wave a gun at that person to let them know I’m not up for that shit. In certain scenarios, I can even shoot and even kill that person legally.
This scares the bejeebus out of most liberals and greenies. Liberals and even some conservative Democrats believe that government forces which tell us how to live, are not only necessary, but something to be respected and obeyed. Such people are complete wussies and they are clueless. The constitution confirms my right to bear arms to protect my person, my family, and my personal property.
I’ll be damned if I have to count on the government and its police force to protect and save me. That’s not their job. Yes, squad cars all say “To protect and to serve” but that’s not the case. They need to change that…contrary to history of our society, and contrary to what you see on TV, cops are not supposed to drop everything and come to your house to fight your battles.
That is your job.
Yes, I’m a law-abiding citizen, but I’m don’t agree with more than half of what our country’s trying to do to us as individuals. Don’t even get me started!

Thanks to my friend Heidi’s blog, I recently became aware of a new documentary coming out, written & created by Addison Wiggin and directed by Patrick Creadon, entitled, I.O.U.S.A.:
It’s true that America is spending more than it produces! Why the heck aren’t we *still* the industrial powerhouse we got to be by the 1950s? It’s because we have been pandering to the rest of the world and sending everything overseas all too often. We outsource practically everything instead of looking at what’s in our own back yard and using our own resources, yet, at the risk of saving money here and there, we take success of our economy and the good value of the Dollar out of the equation.
We need to bring the extraction of natural resources (and energy), jobs, and mass production of goods and technology back to our country and stop sending all our jobs, paychecks and REVENUE to the rest of the world! There are only a few things we really ought to be getting from other countries and that’s fine imported goods. The rest, we can do without.
Fuck conserving resources. We grow trees and we use them. They grow right back. It has been going on like this for as long as there’s been civilization on this earth. Do the same with water. Same with oil. Yes, it takes trillions and bajillions of years for rocks and earth matter to become oil, and clearly
