Yesterday I went to SuperTarget and they had Ben & Jerry\u2019s pints for 2 for $4 (normally almost $4\/each).\u00a0 So I picked up a couple.\u00a0 Or six.\u00a0 Yeah, so I\u2019m post-menstrual.\u00a0 I need ice cream now and then.\u00a0 Deal.<\/p>\n
I was a bit upset that they didn\u2019t have one of my faves\u2013Chunky Monkey.\u00a0 Something about banana ice cream is so fantasically refreshing to me!<\/p>\n
So instead I got these\u2026<\/p>\n
Vermonty Python – Haven\u2019t tried it yet, but the carton says \u201cChocolate-liqueor-flavored ice cream with cookie crumb swirl and milk chocolate cows.\u201d\u00a0 I guess the cows are\u00a0to represent\u00a0the flying cows on the Monty Python\u2019s Flying Circus<\/em> show.\u00a0<\/p>\n Mint Chocolate Cookie – This is mint chocolate ice cream with chunks of Oreo-style chocolate sandwich cookies (not Oreos but close).\u00a0 Sounds delish.\u00a0 I love mint ice cream, Oreo Cookie ice cream, and chocolate, so I hope it does not disappoint.<\/p>\n Black & Tan – this is meant to be similar to the drink by the same name\u2013a tall frothy glass of Irish stout beer.\u00a0 If you like a cool pint of Guinness now and then, you might like the half inch or so of creamy (albiet sweet) stout-flavored ice cream on the top of this concoction.\u00a0 But if you are not a chocoholic, you might not like the rest.\u00a0 It is dark (almost black) chocolate ice cream with hint of chocolate liqueor taste to it.\u00a0 Even I didn\u2019t care too much for this dark layer, and I love chocoloate.\u00a0 This part of the ice cream was very chalky to me, and had a strange sort of choclate taste, but not chocolatey-ice cream taste.<\/p>\n American Pie – Apple pie-flavored ice cream with chunks of cinnamon-y apple and pie crust.\u00a0 Very different.\u00a0 Tasted exactly like apple pie ala mode!\u00a0 Not a favorite though.\u00a0 Ben & Jerry\u2019s fares better with their chocolate ice creams, in my opinion.<\/p>\n Marsha, Marsha, Marshmallow! – This is my ALL TIME FAVE Ben & Jerry\u2019s flavor!\u00a0 It\u2019s not marshmallow ice cream, so beware marshmallow lovers\u2013if that\u2019s what you expect, you will be sorry.\u00a0 It\u2019s rich and dense chocolate ice cream, hunks of fudge chips (the the same ones\u00a0found in the New York Super Fudge Chunk flavor), swirls of toasted marshmallow goo (this part strangely looks like deli mustard\u2026but tastes great\u2013best eaten in the dark livingroom in front of the glow of your fave DVD), and hunks of gritty, salty graham cracker crust-type stuff.\u00a0 This ice cream is rich, sweet and salty all at once.\u00a0 A lot of fun textures combined to make an interesting treat.<\/p>\n \nOther posts on this day:<\/p>\n Yesterday I went to SuperTarget and they had Ben & Jerry\u2019s pints for 2 for $4 (normally almost $4\/each).\u00a0 So I picked up a couple.\u00a0 Or six.\u00a0 Yeah, so I\u2019m post-menstrual.\u00a0 I need ice cream now and then.\u00a0 Deal.
