Let’s get real. I think something to keep in mind as we form online relationships, is that everything isn’t always okay<\/em> with everyone, all the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n But it is okay<\/em> to be yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Okay<\/em> to vent<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Okay<\/em> to whine sometimes a little about how one thing or another in your life isn’t going well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Okay<\/em> to not always be the most positive beaming ray of sunshine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n We’re human. We have emotions. We share them in our communications, perhaps not always the best way, but they can be resolved through listening to others, having discussions or even just someone saying, “It’s okay, we all have days like that, I understand.”<\/em> or, “Hope things are going better soon, let me know if you want to talk about it”<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n I’ve heard people say, “Fake it ’til you make it”<\/strong> … but is that always true? What does faking anything<\/em> get us, besides trouble, usually?<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n We need to start being real and stop this idea that everything we talk about, post about and share has to be the best, the most remarkable, or even just <\/strong>always positive<\/strong>.<\/strong> I’m not saying we should all constantly complain about things. I’m simply saying we need to just realize we’re all just human. What we feel, what we say, to ourselves and others, it’s all part of the human experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Everything we do and write and share isn’t going to be earth-shattering, friggin’ fantastic, or even just hunky-dory. It shouldn’t be. I don’t know where or how the idea originated, that this has become some sort of standard. There needs to be a discussion about the way we network, and how real we can be without thinking there’s going to be a negative stigma because of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
