I remember mom would go into her office, log into Juno, then get up and leave while her e-mails were being retrieved&#8230;sometimes up to a half hour. All the while in the other room, she&#8217;s bitching out loud wondering why she can&#8217;t call her friend on the land line&#8230;FAIL! (ok&#8230;. and??)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well&#8230; It only took about 10-12 seconds to download it&#8230;. and it just made me think about when I was devouring <strong>NAPSTER<\/strong> in the late 90&#8217;s because suddenly I could get songs that I had no heard in AGES&#8230; so I was on that thing almost all day long&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Problem is&#8230; around 98\/99, I did not have DSL where I lived in Reno, NV (it wasn&#8217;t available yet), and it would take me around <strong>40 minutes<\/strong> to download <strong>ONE 3MB song<\/strong> with a 56k modem speed!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I remember leaving Napster open, downloading about 4 or 5 songs at a time.. (couldn&#8217;t do more or else it would hang or crash), and go take a shower, or do something else.. or even let it downloading <strong>overnight<\/strong>!!! (omg!!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then there were times when it would hang or crash at 90%!!! Or the person who you were getting it from, logged out&#8230;. And you just wanted to diiiiiiiiiie!!!!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I even remember messaging users (within the Napster software) begging them NOT to log out because they had a song that took me a very long time to find.
