Ahh.

Ahh…good ‘ol dial-up. I remember mom would go into her office, log into Juno, then get up and leave while her e-mails were being retrieved…sometimes up to a half hour. All the while in the other room, she’s bitching out loud wondering why she can’t call her friend on the land line…FAIL! LOL

Sorry if this is not entertaining….

So I just downloaded a software (will post info here later if I like it)…. and the file was 64.8MB…. (ok…. and??)

Well… It only took about 10-12 seconds to download it…. and it just made me think about when I was devouring NAPSTER in the late 90’s because suddenly I could get songs that I had no heard in AGES… so I was on that thing almost all day long…

Problem is… around 98/99, I did not have DSL where I lived in Reno, NV (it wasn’t available yet), and it would take me around 40 minutes to download ONE 3MB song with a 56k modem speed!!!!

I remember leaving Napster open, downloading about 4 or 5 songs at a time.. (couldn’t do more or else it would hang or crash), and go take a shower, or do something else.. or even let it downloading overnight!!! (omg!!!)

And then there were times when it would hang or crash at 90%!!! Or the person who you were getting it from, logged out…. And you just wanted to diiiiiiiiiie!!!!!!!

I even remember messaging users (within the Napster software) begging them NOT to log out because they had a song that took me a very long time to find. (those were the early days of MP3’s, so not all songs existed in that format).

Wow… how hard life was…
