I live in a tiny, cramped 2nd floor apartment on Rice street above some offices. I have all my 9 windows on one side and guess what, it’s the West side! So in the summer it’s scorching and in the winter it’s scorching. I almost never have to turn the radiators on in the winter […]

This dickhead’s trying on treason this time, though no one wants to call it that.
What’s worse, there’s not much that can be done about it. Why? Because whosoever whines about it, will be given the whole First Ammendment third degree which the nutty professer so cleverly and frequently hides behind, every time his words […]

You should really check out Catch27.com. You could win a PS2 or a Digital Cam or an iPOD. I’m only doing it to win something…it’s full ‘o whores and teeny boppers and assholes named Brad with 47 pieces of metal on his face but hey it’s worth the prize.

Plus I have another blog […]

The news surrounding this woman’s disappearance is a painful reminder that we as American adults need to be more involved in children’s lives (yes, they may be 17 & 18 but they are still just kids) and we need to be ‘hip’ to what is going on at all times.
I cannot even believe that (even […]

OK this is two days late, I like to post these on Sundays but uh…. I’ve been busy. No more no more no more no more

OK I’m not sure if this person was looking for the lyrics to Ray Charles’ “Hit The Road, Jack” or if the person was just demanding NO MORE! So I’m just […]

…and call it the Puppy Blender. Serve up some Dalmation Daquris, have a nice ‘lil happy hour, maybe some bar food like Jalepeno Puppers, make all the waitstaff wear many dogtags as ‘flair’, you get the idea.
This is how many times the name is brought up, just in a given day.

Okay. Here’s the deal.
The re-design/re-launch I had planned is not quite ready. AND it seems the folk going over to Austin in March to judge the SXSW Interactive competition (Hi guys :>) are not going to be doing the judging in March, (as I had sort of um–assumed) but rather, they […]

My Aussie friend Kath sent this to me…enjoy

This morning I lie dreaming that I held a studly and well-ripped superhero captive in my shower and as I was kissing and rubbing him all over, my phone rang. It was 7:45. It was a bill collector. I couldn’t go back to sleep. Bitch.

When I told my boyfriend about the dream, he wanted to know just […]

I hate that. Cause it means I have to work tomorrow. I get all weepy, like the Indian from 1970’s Keep America Beautiful TV commercials. But I digress. On with the blog for today… One of my icq pals just told me Robert Downey, Jr. was arrested. Again.

Damn him. Had I met him a decade ago, this […]

Made a $250 commissioned sale tonight…only my second one in six days but good enough, for now. Something old but funny, to read. It’s my collection of silly personal ad replies, followed by responses I would have sent, had I gotten the balls to actually go through with it… off to bed!

…so anyway, as I was saying…yeah, there’s a lot of old stuff around here. Which brings me to wonder.  Do people read old posts on blogs? I suppose only if they are good, right? Well, my writing has always been horrible, so no chance of that happening anytime soon, I guess.

So. Today I had a doctor appointment.   To follow up with my diabetes, etc., etc.  All very official.  It was supposed to be on Monday, but what with the snow storm we had here in Minnesota and all, it didn’t happen.  After getting a dumping of about 4 inches or so, I was practically snowed-in.

So at […]

Well, so far my new phone is fabuloso! Everything is crystal clear, The buttons are really easy to push (no having to stomp up and down on them to dial like on my old phone) and best of all, I can READ the caller ID!

Another really neat feature is that I can control my digital answering […]

Kiss My Sass » Blog Archive » Her highness: The story of a cat

Earlier this year, had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful cat belonging to a girlfriend.  Upon visiting her and petting her a few times, I found I wasn’t allergic!  That was a good feeling knowing that there was a breed (or perhaps type) of cat that I might possibly own in the future.

What a cute face!

Her name is Queen, and I’ve had her for just a short while now.

She was living where there were 2 dogs (both hyper, yip-yap types) and she did not care to be around them, so she only came out at night, and rarely.  So she did not have a lot of human interaction.  My friend’s 5-year old daughter was very happy to have a cat, but not one that didn’t come out to play very much, or be around the house when all the dogs and people were out.  They were worried that it wasn’t the proper home for her, so when I was on the phone with my friend one night, who seemed concerned enough to want to find her a new home, I asked her if I could take care of Queen.  It seemed like a perfect match, since I had been wanting some animal companionship for a long time, and also since I wasn’t allergic to her.

It took my friend’s daughter some convincing.  It was her cat, after all.  One day, a couple weeks later, I came home from being gone all day, to hear a message on my answering machine from the little girl.  All it said was, “You can have the cat, you can have Queen. Do you want her? OK, bye!”

She ran off a couple weeks ago, and stayed gone a long time.  My friend was worried that she might run off again, so when they did find her, she was brought over right away, to my house, where she seems pretty content to have the place to herself for the most part.

If you are on Facebook, here are photos of her, for you to look at and comment on.

If not, here they are:

She decided one night, to be so bold as to jump up onto my hi-top kitchen table.

Sassy girl on my table

Look at that pouty puss!

Queen is a little rough around the edges, as she was really matted (being a Persian, they are prone to that sometimes). But she’s had a good clipping, and her coat will grow back nice and full in no time.

Leaning in for a little pettin’

She can be very sweet and affectionate

She is also very talkative, and when I come through the door after being gone (even if it’s just going to get the mail), she comes out from wherever she’s been, and meows at me for a few minutes.  She’ll usually be in whatever room I’m in (except she doesn’t come to my room or lie on my bed when I go to sleep at night, which is good, I don’t need cat hair all over my bed).  She also likes to come up to me when I’m working at my desk, and meow at me for a bit, usually to get some lovin’s and pettin’s

Sleepy time, on the top of the couch

To show you how truly old and decrepit this blog really is…
It used to be called “day lee” (a play on words, duh!) back when I used to actually post daily.  Then I changed my tag line to “the day lee misadventures”.  Too cute *barf*!

It’s New Year’s Eve and I’m spending it all alone because I have a nasty cold *ACHOO!* But I’m  not bitter… I am blessed to have a great new apartment, wonderful friends and family and (somewhat) good health, and a job I enjoy where I get to be my own boss.

I’m not a conservative, more of libertarian, who happens to have a few conservative viewpoints. And get this. I used to be much further to the left than most liberals! In recent years I began to see things differently and realize that having more liberal/democrat ideals, wasn’t for me.
Anyway, here is my […]
